First Day: Exploring the Mountains

The barren desert has an appeal all its own

The climb to get this picture was worth the effort.

Our first day in Big Bend was mostly driving around, but I managed to get some hiking in. We are staying in Terlingua, which is on the west side. To get anywhere inside the park will be a little drive.
